What is 14k Gold-Filled?

14k gold-filled is the next best option to 14k solid gold and a higher quality alternative to gold plating. It is a less expensive option and it is hypoallergenic. Gold-filled is actual 14k gold heat-bonded with an inner core of brass as opposed to gold plated which is a thin layer of gold liquid solution electroplated over a base metal.
